Not-So-Secret Weapons to save you Time, Money and Frustration in acquiring and using Windows Programs and Utilities

Benefits and recommendations regarding the sources and programs shown in this presentation --

» Tablet and Phone Apps (not shown here) are often free, sometimes have malware, and may or may not lack the features and flexibility of full programs

» Many programs are crossplatform (describing how they run on a variety of operating systems and platforms: mac OS, Linux, Windows, Android tablets, etc.) But, you need to read the methods and requirements to make sure they are compatible with your devices.

» We recommend against 'CLOUD' programs and their questionable safety, reliability, what info of yours they may grab or where in the world they are located.

» The presenters personally use many programs from these sites and find them reliably safe. Many have very active and helpful user community forums.

» You need to note the System Requirements clearly shown to ensure compatibility of the program with your O/S and note if it modifies your windows O/S

» If a program requires complex instructions and file manipulations you are not comfortable with, there are almost always alternatives that are easier to use on that site or one of the others listed here

» When a program talks about 'extracting' and 'unzipping' Universal Extractor and 7zip (mentioned in many entries) handle these tasks and are available as Portable Free utilities to download.
